Hegony is a band that comes out of Poland's old school brutal death metal scene.Deviations is the bands latest EP that came out at the end of 2025 featuring four songs of well written and performed death metal.The guitars are played with some extremly fast paced guitar patterns that are well performed.The guitarist does write some memorable passages and has some well performed solo's added into the music.The drums are a mix of extremly fast blast beats that are pummeling in their delievery.The drummer does slow to a more controlled paced throughout a few of the songs.The vocals are powerful death metal growls and some gruff screams are also used in a few songs.Deviations is a solid death metal release for those who love there death metal aggressive and powerful check this band out today. Azoth--Esoteric Passages{digital}{Independent}

 

Azoth is a solo project coming out of Canada and plays a  mix of mid paced black and death metal.Esoteric Passages is the debut full length featuring six tracks of  mid paced black death that is primitive and grim sounding.The guitars are played with a mix of slow almost doomish in style but do speed to a mid paced range throughout the songs.Their are even some melodic passages added into a few of the songs.The vocals for the most part are heavy death metal growls and some raspy black metal screams are used in a few of the songs.This is a decent demo of mid paced black death metal so if this sounds like a band you might be into go ahead and check them out today.

AXE-Autogeddon CS(Caligari Rec.}

Eternal Sword--Valorous CD&LP{Humanity's Plague Prod.)

 

Eternal Sword is a solo project that plays a very good style of Atmospheric and Epic black metal that is raw but well performed musicial passages.Starting off with a short intro that is instrumental the music starts off with some memorable melodic passages.The guitars are performed with some memorable mid paced guitars that are performed with intensity and well delievered.The guitars do speed to a faster pace throughout a couple of the songs for a nice mix of the two styles.The vocals are grim raw black metal screams that fit the music perfectly.I have not heard the debut release so i can not compare the two but if you are a fan of raw,epic atmospheric black metal then defintly pick this up today.                    Humanity's Plague Prod.

Coming out of Houston Texas is Goatsak who plays a good style of black and death metal and the debut EP.Torn Into The Infernal Dimension Of Insanity is two tracks of  black death metal that is played with fast and chaotic musicial patterns.The guitars are played with speed and aggressive patterns that are well performed.The guitarist does write some memorable guitar parts that are a mix of extremly fast guitars and more controlled mid paced patterns.The drums are performed with a mix of the same with some crushing mid paced drums that are heavy.The drummer does speed to a much faster pace with some well executed and delievered blast beats.The vocals are old school death metal growls that are powerful.The vocalsist also uses some raw black metal screams throughout the songs to give each song a nice balance.Torn Into The Infernal Dimension Of Insanity is a great debut of raw black death metal that is well executed and delievered so check the band out today.

Sadismo--Atrocidad (CS) (2026 Independent) (review done by AOS)

Written and performed by Juan Usurper, who spent significant time in early line ups of Proclamation and Teitanblood, this demo tape has nine songs in twenty minutes. Expect plenty of blasts, schismatic solos and Spanish vocals over brute force riffs. It sounds like an early Cogumelo band has been placed in a blender with a strong dose of Vomitor, which is a description designed to excite maniacs. Apparently recorded on an 8 track, this one man band has great potential. I'd like to see the next recording be done with a full band, but if it isn't, I don't think it would matter a lot. He is quite competent on all instruments, albeit played in the classic frantic style as mentioned above. The music hits its hardest when it slows down a bit (see track 6 for example) which gives it a chance to create more distinctive mood and feeling amongst the controlled chaos, as the blasts tread very closely to early Sarcofago at times (sometimes too closely). If you're a demo tape kinda maniac like me, then add this one to your list. It hits a certain spot.

Division 52 is a duo coming out of Germany's black death war metal scene and this is a review of the debut demo.Total War is five songs of barbaric,brutal black and death war metal that is devestating in the music.The music is performed by K.98 and is a barrage of blasting drums and razorsharp fast paced guitars.The music is extreme in every sense of the word but their are some good musicial patterns mixed into the primitive and vicious style the band performs.Thrope handles the vocals which are powerful death metal growls that are brutal in their delievery.Total War is a must have for all those who love underground bestial and brutal black death metal.

Signs of the Evil--Calling the Ancient Legions Under the Red Moon (CS) {2026 Infernal Arts Productions} (review done by AOS)

Forming in Peru before relocating to the US, Signs of the Evil are a traditional unholy Black Metal band, spewing forth their second full length, titled ‘Calling the Ancient Legions Under the Red Moon’. I had not heard them prior to this moment, despite origins dating back to 2002, but this is one mighty and crushing performance, full of genuine inspiration from old (un)gods of the BM scene, such as Necromantia, Rotting Christ, Varathron and a touch of Burzum. From these comparisons, you can tell that they aren’t obsessed with speed for the sake of it, instead they create dark and sadistic atmosphere with mood. This is then encapsulated in an unmistakable Peruvian approach… think of Goat Semen, Saram and a touch of Levifer. These elements are less apparent than the prior mentioned, but they are undeniable to my ears. It all combines to give you this torturous, violent and dark maelstrom. The band is strongly grounded in an anti-Christian ethos, which is something I respect to the fullest. It seems this theme has lost impact for some in recent years, given how detached from the shackles of religion the youth have become since the 1980’s and the rise of Satanic bands of that era. But for me, the impact and message remains strong in the Underground - religion is a poison and you must stay vigilant against it. Bands like Signs of the Evil are an echo of the past. A reminder that the war against dogma is eternal. But I digress.. let’s get back to the music! If you want to hear the best this band has to offer, go straight to track four and five; Glory & Pride / Rituale Fragellationi. The two songs stand out and show the listener that these guys are no pretenders. If this doesn’t inspire you to order a copy of this fine album, then you should just admit that you are a poser. Tape now out on Infernal Arts Prod. I’m sure other formats will follow…

Ancient Entity is a  solo project  coming out of Sweden's old school death metal scene and this is a review of the debut demo.The Final Dawn  is three tracks of pure death metal that is raw but shows some well executed musicial passages.The first song is  Suffering and is a good song that starts off with some heavy and pounding drums then the guitars pick up to a faster pace.The guitars are played with both heavy mid paced patterns and some faster guitars both styles are done with some well played patterns.The vocals are raw old school death metal growls.The second track is The Final Dawn starts off a little faster and aggressive with some aggressive fast guitar patterns that are well performed.The drumming is a mix of mid paced to a faster drum pace.The vocals raw,old school death metal growls.The final song is Lord Of Death is a faster paced song with some heavy pounding drums.The guitars are played with some memorable fast paced patterns that are well written.Obviously the band does have some of the old school Swedish sound but doesn't really try to copy any one band instead plays old school death metal that is well delievered.If you are looking for a new band to check out then why not give  Ancient Entity a listen today.                                                                                      Ancient Entity
