Sanguine Count/Pagan Warmoon--Ancient Hate Follow It's Path (Digital) (2026 Independent)

This is an obscure split of raw black metal played in the early Norwegian tradition. Three songs from each band are offered up on the altar of death. I'm not sure if Sanguine Count is programming their drums, but they're a bit sloppy at slower tempos. I really like the guitar sound and vocals, however. Truly grim shit, and worth a listen if you don't mind metal that's rough around the edges and you can see the potential in a band. Get ready to turn the volume way up after those songs are over, because Pagan Warmoon's half of the split is seriously under-produced and low in volume. There's some good material here, and the songs are interesting. The vocals are completely fried out, being all distortion, which effect I could do without. I just want to hear those growls and howls without it being overdriven. This isn't anything you haven't heard before, but there are some interesting songs and textures by both bands on this split, and I do recommend it for the serious black metal fan. I think the material is good enough to warrant a physical release, if a label or either band feel like stepping up and paying for it. All good metal needs to be put to tape at the very least! 

Deathfire--Centuries Of Hatred{digital}{Independent}

 

Deathfire is a new band coming out of Italy and plays aggressive style of black,death and thrash metal.Centuries Of Hatred is the debut with eight tracks of well executed thrashy death metal the music is well composed and written.For the  most part it is fast and frenzied guitars that are performed with intense and skillful writing.Their are some well performed solo's and passages entertwined within the music. The vocals are raw heavy death metal growls that are powerful in the delievery.Their are also some gruff screams used in a few of the songs.Centuries Of Hatred is a really good release that  blends aggressive thrashy musical passages and old school heavy death metal together for a great release.           Deathfire

Malicious Entity--Malevolent Ceremony{digital}{Independent}

 

Malevolent Ceremony  is the second full length from Canada's one man band Malicious Entity.The release has eight tracks of raw, black thrashing  mayhem that is intense and aggressive in the delivery.The guitars are played at a whirlwind fast paced speed with some well written and played guitar patterns.Their are some well performed solo's throughout the songs as well.The vocals are raw gruff growls their are even some thrashy screams used in a few of the songs. Malicious Entity has crafted a great release of  raw old school thrashy black metal that shouldn't be missed by those who love this  genre.

Vilifier--SkullThrone EP. tape&digitall{Independent}

Vilifier is a death metal band coming out of Australia's scene and this is a review of the bands newest EP.SkullThrone  contains a intro with some dark musical passages and screams.The music starts off with some fast and heavy drums and guitars that powerful in their delievery.The guitars are played with a mix of mid paced heavier patterns but do speed up to a faster more aggressive style throughout the songs.Their are some well executed passages that are heavy and some faster paced for a nice range.The vocals are grim and gruff growls Their are also some deeper death metal growls and some screams are used in a song.Each vocal style is well delievered and executed.Vilifier performs old school death metal that does not follow  any trends just performs authentic death metal. Deathkult Dominion  is a solo project coming out of Germany's black,death war metal scene.Scorched Earth Harvest is the debut full length with nine songs of brutal and vicious black death metal.The music is non stop barrage of insanely fast drums and crazed guitars patterns.Their are some well played guitar patterns in a few of the songs.The vocals are raw old school growls and some heavier,bestial growls.For a debut this is a good release of crazed and extremly fast black,death grinding metal if this sounds like your type of music check it out today.
