Solt is a two man band coming out of Illinois's black and death metal scene and this is a review of the bands newest EP.The Millstone is three songs of fast and aggressive black metal with some death metal elements added into the music.The guitars are performed with some fast and chaotic guitar patterns that are performed with power and skill.The guitars are played with fast and frenzied guitar patterns.The guitarist does slow to a heavier mid paced range throughout a few of the tracks.The drums are well performed with some extremely fast paced drum passages.Like the guitars the drums to do slow to a mid paced range throughout the songs for a nice mix of the two styles.The vocals are raw,grim black metal screams and some deeper death growls.Solt is not doing anything that hasn't been done before but the musicians know how to perform their instruments for a good release of black death metal.
